What Simplify is (and isn't)
Simplify (simplify.jobs) is an AI job-search assistant built around one profile: a free Chrome extension called Copilot autofills application forms as you browse, alongside job matches, a tracker, and resume tools. It's genuinely one of the best-liked products in the space — its extension has over a million installs and a Chrome Web Store rating near 4.9. The single most important fact about Simplify: it does not submit applications for you. Copilot fills the fields, and you review and click Submit on every application yourself. That's by design — it keeps you in control — but it means Simplify solves a different problem than a true auto-apply bot. Any review calling it an "auto-apply" tool is misreading it.
The free Copilot: genuinely good
Credit where it's due: the free tier is excellent and, for many people, all they need. Copilot autofills applications across major ATSs — reviewers cite Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, and Workday — pulling from your saved profile so you're not retyping your history into every form. The job tracker and matched-roles feed are solid, and the whole thing is free with no credit card. If you're running a careful, low-volume search and just want the typing gone, it's hard to beat.
Simplify publishes big adoption numbers (over a million users, and it claims a large share of applications flow through its extension). Those are their figures, but the popularity is real and visible in how positively the free product is discussed on Reddit and the Chrome store.
Simplify+ pricing and value
Simplify's paid tier, Simplify+, isn't published on a public pricing page — it's shown in-app and in their help center. Reported prices are $19.99 for one week, $39.99 for one month, and $89.99 for three months, with all tiers offering the same features (AI resume tailoring, AI cover letters, AI answers to application questions, outreach emails, analytics) and differing only in duration. Note that it auto-renews, and third parties report no free trial and no clearly documented refund policy for Simplify+ — so treat the weekly option as the low-risk way to test it, and confirm current terms in-app.
The value question is real here. Simplify+ adds AI writing on top of a free autofill tool, but its own Trustpilot presence is thin and mixed (a small, unclaimed profile around 3.6/5), with complaints that the AI resumes are underwhelming and the plan feels expensive for what it adds. The free Copilot is beloved; Simplify+ is where opinions split. Try the AI outputs on the weekly plan before committing to more.
Is Simplify legit and safe?
Yes — Simplify is a well-established, venture-backed product with a large user base and a transparent free tier. The main honest caveats are the Simplify+ value question above, occasional reports of stale job links, and the broader debate about whether mass-autofill tools inflate applicant counts industry-wide. As with any tool holding your resume and answers, read the privacy policy; Simplify's data reputation is generally fine. Legitimacy isn't the concern here — fit is.
